Legal note on sanctions
The FCI is not legally allowed to impose sanctions on breeders or handlers, since there is no official link between a breeder/handler and the FCI: the members of the FCI are the national canine organisations. Consequently, in the framework of what happened in Luxembourg last weekend, the FCI General Secretariat immediately contacted FCI’s member in Hungary and Luxembourg. The reaction of Mr Korozs (President of the Hungarian canine organisation) was published here on September 4th and Mr Schwab’s (President of the canine organisation of Luxembourg) will be published as soon as received; he is currently involved in the investigation with the Police Grand Ducale.

Announcement of the Hungarian Kennel Club Association related to the dog cruelty happened in Luxembourg
On behalf of the leadership of the Hungarian Kennel Club Association I would like to inform the national and international public about the unacceptable exhibitors' behaviour that happened over the last weekend in Luxembourg.
Based on the information published on the official Facebook page of the Luxembourg Police and other international platforms, it was brought to our attention that a Hungarian "exhibitor group" seriously violated the law of dog transportation and the basic standards of responsible animal keeping.
The Hungarian Kennel Club and the respectable Hungarian exhibitors, breeders and dog owners deeply condemn this case occured over the weekend in Luxembourg and calling serious action against any similar conduct that violates the basic rules of responsible animal keeping wherever it should happen and regardless of whom violates these rules (any person involved certainly cannot be called "professional" in any way).
I have contacted the Luxembourg Kennel Club and the Luxembourg Police to investigate this matter further on.
I would like to reassure the national and international public that our Kennel Club will apply the strictest sanctions after the investigation of this matter in order to prevent the recurrence of similar events.
Once the case is closed, further information will be provided to you.
Budapest, 02.09.2015.
Korózs András
President of the Hungarian Kennel Club
